Buitengewoon Almere ontvangt cheque ter waarde van 5000 euro.
Dimensio, onderneming van het jaar 2016, mag een ondernemersprijs uitreiken. Zij hebben ervoor gekozen om deze aan Buitengewoon Almere uit te reiken. Op 20 oktober is deze cheque in het bijzijn van Mark Pol uitgereikt aan Buitengewoon Almere.
Buitengewoon Almere is een samenwerkingsverband tussen profit en non-profit organisaties. Binnen Almere hebben zij per stadsdeel (Almere-Haven/Almere-Buiten/Almere-Stad/Almere-Poort) bestaande zorglocaties, hulporganisaties en/of buurtcentra als bereidingspunt, distributiepunt en opslag van gezonde maaltijden dienen, en die de mensen in nood voorzien van gezond voedsel. Voedseloverschotten worden ’s morgens bij de supermarkten, restaurants etc. opgehaald en binnen het uur tot gezonde maaltijden verwerkt. Er worden nu wekelijks 150 – 200 verse gezonde maaltijden bereid en gedistribueerd. Indien deze maaltijden worden gedistribueerd in de wijken dan maken zij zoveel mogelijk gebruik van herbruikbare verpakkingsmaterialen. De maaltijden worden naar de minderbedeelden gebracht of ze komen deze op locatie nuttigen. Dit hele proces vindt binnen 8 uur plaats.
Wethouder Froukje de Jonge van Participatie, Werk en Inkomen, ondersteunde het initiatief om Buitengewoon te starten: ‘Buitengewoon combineert een paar dingen die waardevol zijn: het bestrijden van voedselverspilling en gezond eten, ook voor inwoners met weinig te besteden. Dat doen ze op een innovatieve manier: ze bevorderen een creatieve samenwerking tussen partijen in de stad, die elkaar nu weten te vinden en zo gezamenlijk tot nieuwe oplossingen komen.’
Dimensio donates 5000 euro
Dimensio, company of the year, had the possibility to give an entrepreneur award. Dimensio chose to give this award to Buitengewoon Almere. On the 20th of October this cheque, accompanied bij alderman Mark Pol, was awarded to Extraordinary Almere.
Buitengewoon Almere is a partnership between profit and non-profit organizations. The coalition partners are located in different districts (Almere-Haven/Almere-Buiten/Almere-Stad/Almere-Poort). These partners process the food surplus and distribute them. The fresh food surplus are provided by the connected local supermarkets. In the morning a coalition partner picks up the food surplus at for example a local supermarket and prepares these within the hour. Our coalition partners have professional kitchens and can process, distribute and store the food. Weekly 150 – 200 fresh and healthy meals are being prepared and distributed. Food connects and brings people together. That is why at some locations there is also the possibility to have dinner there. If the meals are distributed in a district or picked up at a location, reusable packaging meals are being used as much as possible. This whole process takes place within 8 hours.
Alderman Froukje de Jonge, who has Participation, work and income in her portfolio, encouraged this initiative: Buitengewoon Almere combines a few things which are valuable: contest the food waste and to ensure healthy food, also for the people with low incomes. Their performance is innovative: they manage a creative partnership between parties and the cities, who now know how to find each other and in that way can come to new solutions.’
